That was a detailed and useful post by all of you. I agree that it's better to have less hoops. I decided that when entering other people's contests. If there are a bazillion steps, I pass. It's important to remember that all readers have limited time--they have their own writing projects, their own blogs and, usually, a lot of blogs to read.

Good timing for me. I've been thinking about holding a contest since I hit the fantastic 100-follower mark, but it’s hard to think of what to do and what to give and what if it flops…. :)
